WASHINGTON, PA - La Roche women's basketball hit the road for their first away game of the season. It wasn't the outcome the Redhawks wanted, but there were strong showings for the team. 

Makayla Abram, who was named Newcomer of the year last season, led the offensive change. The sophomore netted 14 points, 4 rebounds, 3 steals, and 1 assist. 

The primary rebounder, Machia Hairston, snagged 9 rebounds and put up 12 points for her team. Hairston also blocked two shot attempts. 

Women's basketball will be heading back to Wash & Jeff on Sunday to take on the Presidents themselves
