Lions Defeated by DII Lock Haven

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Penn State Altoona women's basketball team returned to action on Thursday evening, falling 88-40 to Division II opponent Lock Haven University in the Thomas Fieldhouse.

Lock Haven (2-2) shot 52.6 percent from the field as a team while limiting Penn State Altoona (0-3) to just 18 first-half points, en route to a 48-point win.

Avana Sayles (Venetia, PA/Peters Township) tied for the game-high in scoring for the Lions, putting up 14 points to go along with five rebounds. Sarah Huston (Coatesville, PA/Coatesville) came off the bench to add seven points, three assists, and three steals.

Lock Haven got 14 points, eight rebounds, and four assists from Alana Robinson, while Brooke Lawyer scored 13 points.

Penn State Altoona returns home for its next game, when the Lions will host day one of the Mountain Valley Tip-Off Classic in the Adler Arena this Saturday, November 19. Mount Aloysius College and Keuka College will face off in the night's first game at 5:00 p.m., followed by Penn State Altoona and Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology at 7:00 p.m.
