Volleyball: Bison Sweep Bobcats

Bethany, W.Va – The Bethany Volleyball team hosted the Pitt-Greensburg Bobcats in a non-conference match. The Bison picked up a 3-0 victory over the Bobcats.

THE HIGHLIGHTS

  • The Bobcats gave the Bison a battle, but the Green and White came out on top sweeping the Bobcats, 3-0 (25-14, 25-23, 25-20)
  • The Bison and Bobcats battled back and forth in the first set, knotted at 7-7, Bethany began to pull away going up 13-8 after Olivia Koehler served an ace. The Green and White tallied on five more points taking a 18-9 lead and pulled away to finish the set 25-14
  • Both sets two and three went the distance with both teams hanging on and battling for each point

BY THE NUMBERS

  • 150 - With tonight's victory, head coach Courtney Hilyer earned her 250th career win 
  • 10 – Senior Jess Moore led the Bison with 10 kills on the night
  • 15 – Freshman Asia Crim led the Bison with 15 digs; she added three aces
  • 5 – Junior Riley Felton led the Bison with five aces
  • 8 – The Bison continued their block party totaling eight blocks led by (Emma Marthins, Riley Felton and Destiny Goodnight)

WHAT'S NEXT?  

Bethany returns to the court on Saturday September 18, when they travel to Grove City, Pa for a PAC tri-match against the Grove City Wolverines and the Saint Vincent Bearcats.
