Pittsburgh, Pa. - The La Roche women's volleyball team was swept three sets to none in their home opener against the Allegheny College Gators. This defeat puts LRUVB to a 2-4 record this season while Allegheny improves their record to 3-2.

In the three-set loss the RedHawks suffered from a total of 20 errors. Senior outside hitter Bethany Nulph (Saxonburg, PA/Knoch) tallied a team high 6 kills of the 20 total kills. Senior libero Sydney Herzer (Huber heights, OH/Wayne) recorded 9 of the 32 digs. Junior setter Cassidy Rossi (Pittsbugh,Pa /Shaler) contributed half of tonight's 14 assists. Finally, in a team effort the Redhawks executed a total of 5 aces.

On the other hand, Allegheny College racked up 34 kills, 35 digs, 11 aces, 10 errors, and 11 blocks.

Next Up: LRUVB will play in a Tri-Match against Grove City College and Regent University on September 11 at 1PM and 3PM respectively.
