York and Romesberg Jr. Provide Late Game Heroics to Help Lions Advance in ECAC Tournament

NEWARK, NJ – The Penn State Behrend men's soccer team advanced in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) following a thrilling 2-1 win over Misericordia on Saturday.

Key Moments:
* Tyler Vandemerwe (Erie,PA/Cathedral Prep) sent four shots on goal in the span of two minutes to eventually open the scoring in the 19th minute with James Lynch being credited with an assist
* Behrend didn't have many more chances in the first half but goalkeeper Sam York (Akron, OH/Revere) stood tall making four saves through the first frame
* In the 69th minute, Misericordia evened things up with a goal from Francisco Echeverria
* Moments after the game-tying goal, the Cougars received a penalty kick that was denied by York to keep the game tied 1-1
* Seven minutes later Matthew Romesberg Jr. (Hollsopple, PA/Mount Pleasant) found the back of the goal to take the lead 2-1 in 76th minute
* With two minutes remaining, York would make another huge save to help the Lions close out the victory and advance in the ECAC Tournament
* York finished the day with eight saves
