HIRAM, Ohio – The Hiram men's volleyball team held off a battling Penn State Behrend squad in five sets, winning 3-2 in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Match of the Week on Saturday night.

Key Moments:

* The Lions fought back from a two-set deficit to force a fifth and final set
* In the fifth set, Hiram got four kills from four different players to seal its first win over Behrend
* Behrend never trailed in the third and fourth sets to even the match at 2-all
* The Lions grabbed their largest lead in the fourth set by nine points
* The Terriers held an 8-6 edge in kills in the final set and forced five Behrend errors
* Colin Dedert (Pittsburgh, PA/Plum) had first career double-double with a career-high 17 kills and 12 digs
* Freshman Alex Jackson (Cochranton, PA/Cochranton) and Diego Ortiz (San Juan, Puerto Rico/Wesleyan Academy) split the setter duties, dishing out 24 and 23 assists, respectively
* Ortiz also registered his first career double-double adding 10 digs to go with his 23 assists
* As a team, the Lions held a 53-49 advantage in kills while Hiram tallied one more dig and four more blocks
* Logan Hering (North East, PA/North East) finished with 13 kills and nine digs
* Sophomore Adrian Martinez (San Juan, Puerto Rico/Wesleyan Academy) added two more digs to his season high, posting 20 in the five-set match
