Williams Hits Three Homers in Double Header Wins over Mt. Aloysius

Myrtle Beach, SC. - The Penn State Harrisburg men's baseball team extended their win streak to six on Thursday March 8th after defeating Mt. Aloysius 7-0 and 7-1.  The Lions won all five of their games at the Cal Ripken Experience complex in Myrtle Beach over the spring break period.   Brett Williams went deep and 3-4 in the first game and followed it up with another 3-4 showing with two additional home runs in game two.

Harrisburg cruised in the opener after scoring all seven runs in the first three innings.  Mount Aloysius was able to find some defense to finish the game, but the damage was already done.  Michael De Leon claimed his first win at the mound after pitching 5.2 innings where he allowed just two hits.  Tyler Jackson completed the sixth inning and then Ryan Thomas closed out the game in the seventh striking out two of his three opponents.

Penn State kept the momentum going in the second leg of the double header and so did Brett Williams.  Williams was absolutely dominate in the contest, hitting a combined 6-8 overall and also claiming three home runs.  Miguel Torres also did well, hitting 2-3 and also notching a home run in game two.  Zach Gettys earned his second win of the year, throwing six innings and giving up just two hits.

The Lions will have a few days to rest before the extremely busy spring season is in full force.  Harrisburg was scheduled to play Sunday at home, but the game has been postponed due to field conditions.  Their next scheduled contest is on Tuesday March 13th against local foe Elizabethtown College.
