Women’s Tennis Downed 6-3 by Mount Aloysius

ALTOONA, Pa. – The Penn State Altoona women's tennis team returned to the court for the first and only time during the spring semester on Tuesday evening, when the Lions hosted Mount Aloysius College for a non-conference match at the Adler Tennis Courts.

Mount Aloysius (4-9) dealt the home team a 6-3 defeat, winning two out of three doubles matches and taking four out of six singles matches.

The Mounties won the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles matches by respective scores of 8-0 and 8-1 to start the day with a 2-0 lead. Penn State Altoona (4-7) received a point in the No. 3 match with a win by default.

Mount Aloysius proceeded to record wins in the No. 2, 3, 4, and 5 singles matches to ice a victory over the Lions.

Penn State Altoona recorded a point in the No. 1 singles match, where Emily Neil (Altoona, PA/Altoona) prevailed 6-3, 6-2 for her fourth overall singles win of the season. The Lions also got a point in the No. 6 match by default.

Penn State Altoona women's tennis' 2021-22 schedule now comes to a close. The Lions finish their season with a 4-7 overall record, including going 3-3 in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference during the traditional portion of their season last fall.
