STEUBENVILLE, OH – With time running out, Gina Mallone took a feed from Brittany Profetta in for Hilbert's solo score of the day ultimately preventing a shut-out loss for the Hawks.

Franciscan University improved to 3-5 overall and earned their first Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (2-1) victory this afternoon.

The Hawks (0-7-1) have lost a pair of 1-goal games and played to a 0-0 double over time draw this past week as they continue to battle on the field.

With an onslaught of shots coming her way, goalie Jenna Castricone kept the Hawks a live most of the day.  She was credited with 13 saves against the 30 shots (15 on-goal). 

Mallone's goal at 89:12 turned out to be the only shot-on goal Hilbert found although they did take seven shots this afternoon.

Now that AMCC action has started, the Hawks also have to think about the Buffalo Cup Series games between Medaille and D'Youville this month.  Hilbert travels to Buffalo this Tuesday, September 26 for their first cross-town rival game against Medaille.  The game is being played at the Dobson Turf Complex at D'Youville College's lower west-side campus at 3:30 pm.
