PITTSBURGH, Pa. –
Shannon Rogers and
Jenah Labuski notched double figures scoring, but the Hawks from Hilbert faced a second half, hot-handed La Roche College who rushed to an 88-53 AMCC victory January 10. The Redhawks (5-0) maintained their first place ranking in the league and pushed Hilbert to a winless conference record.
La Roche jumped out to an 8-0 lead before Labuski turned an
Amber Hay pass into the Hawks first bucket at 16:05. The hosts extended their lead to 21-7 before Hilbert hit back-to-back buckets to cut the difference to 12 points by 9:40. The Hawks fell behind 29-11 but cut the score to nine points on several occasions before intermission.
Labuski and Hay hooked up for the game's first score in the second half again. Then La Roche went on a 17-0 run to take a commanding 57-28 lead 15:56 and controlled the pace of the game the rest of the way

Shannon Rogers led the visitors with 12 points and was one rebound shy of a double-double.
Jenah Labuski sank 5-of-8 attempts to post 10 points in 19 minutes.
Amber Hay passed for five assists and added six points and a team-high three blocks.
Markayla Feaster hit 4-of-6 from the floor to give Hilbert eight points with one block.
La Roche's Sabrina McLin dazzled with 29 points, knocking down 5-of-9 beyond the arc and Danasha Harris added 17 points, game-high seven steals and five assists.
Hilbert finished the game shooting 37.9% from the floor and 50% from the foul line. La Roche started the game shooting 33% yet dialed into a second-half 57% field goal accuracy.
Hilbert scored 14 points off La Roche's 16 turnovers and earned 11 second chance points.
The Redhawks turned Hilbert's 32 turnovers into 40 points and maneuvered for 38 points in the paint.
