Volleyball Ends Season at Mount Aloysius

CRESSON, Pa. – The Hilbert College women's volleyball team completed their 2015 season after the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference straight-set loss to Mount Aloysius College was finalized this afternoon.

The Hawks fell (25-17, 25-10, 25-19) to go 1-8 in league play while the hosts improved to 6-3 and forced a four-way tie for a 3rd place seed leading into the AMCC play offs next week.

Hilbert was credited with positive hitting in all three sets and ended with a .145 attack percentage.  The Hawks collected 18 kills, 7 hitting errors in 76 attempts.

Mount Aloysius earned 44 kills (9 errors) in 96 attempts for a sizzling .365 attack percentage.

The Mounties tacked on 11 extra points off service aces and four blocks, while Hilbert was blanked in both categories.

Junior Amanda Binder led the Hawks with eight kills and got help from senior Chelsea Adamski (4) and first-year Anissa Quiroga (3).

Sophomore Morgan Ott assisted on 12 kills as freshman Kamalei Lene passed for three.

Senior Ashley Viengmay was credited with a team-best seven digs and Adamski and Ott added five each.

Penn State Altoona and Medaille both finished the regular season with a 7-2 conference record.  Once the tie breaker is announced, one of those two schools will host the semi-final/final for the AMCC league as the top seed next weekend.

La Roche, Mt. Aloysius, Penn State Behrend and Franciscan all closed their season at 6-3.  Those four institutions will be seeded 3 through 6 and play a 1stRound game on Wednesday (4th) with the winners advancing to the Championship weekend.
