Fisher Nets Two as Pioneers Defeat St. Vincent

Megan Fisher (Ashville/Chatauqua Lake) scored a pair as the Alfred State women's soccer team defeated St. Vincent on a sun drenched afternoon. Fisher scored a goal in each half as the Pioneers rallied from an early deficit.

The Bearcats got on the board 6:25 into the game on a goal by Tanisha Grewal. Just under four minutes later Fisher scored her first of the day and first of her collegiate career to tie it. St. Vincent held a 10 to 6 shot advantage in the first 45 minutes.

Fisher scored what proved to be the game-winner just under 23 minutes into the second half. The Pioneers defense held the Bearcats to just three shots in the half while the offense took another six shots. 

Sierra Schofield (Delran, NJ) made one save in net in 90 minutes to earn her first collegiate victory.

The Pioneers have a week off before a pair of home games next weekend. They take on Wells on Saturday (Noon) and Elmira on Sunday (1 p.m.)
