Women’s Soccer Drops Matchup With Lycoming

ALTOONA, Pa. - The Penn State Altoona women's soccer team played host to Lycoming College on Sunday afternoon, losing by a score of 1-0.

The Lions (0-4) were unable to score for the second straight game, and the afternoon's lone goal was scored two minutes into the second half courtesy of Lycoming's Bella Green.

The shot on goal totals for Sunday's game were 5-4 in favor of Lycoming (3-1). For the Lions, Sadie McConnell (New Enterprise, PA/Northern Bedford) led the team with two shots on goal. Ainsley Griffin (Stafford, VA/Mountain View) and Kayla Grove (Downingtown, PA/Downingtown East) each tallied one shot on goal.

Lions' goalkeeper Jadyn Michael (Berwick, PA/Berwick) saved four shots out of the five she faced.

The Penn State Altoona women's soccer team will look to secure their first win of the 2021 season when they host Saint Vincent College at Spring Run Stadium on Tuesday, September 14 at 6:00 p.m.
