BUFFALO, N.Y. – Buffalo State led the entire game and
Liv LeBaron (Horseheads/Corning Painted Post) recorded her first career double-double as the Bengals raced past Medaille 69-48 to open the 2017-18 season at home on Wednesday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- LeBaron was Buffalo State's leading scorer with 25 points, 10 rebounds and seven steals.
- Caleh McLean (New Rochelle/New Rochelle) added 11 points and four steals in only 18 minutes of action.
- Katie Villarini (Hamburg/Hamburg) and Mariah Rosario (Flushing/Robert F. Kennedy) each finished with nine points respectively, with Rosario adding nine rebounds.
- Buffalo State opened the game on a 13-0 run and used the momentum to take a 23-14 lead at the end of the first quarter.
- Medaille responded with an 11-4 run to close out the second quarter to narrow Buffalo State's lead to six at halftime.
- A 14-0 run early in the third quarter, with six points coming from McLean, gave the Bengals some breathing room with a 15 point lead, at 2:51.
- Kaelee Lynch (Atwater, CA/Buhach Colony) scored a layup with under a minute left in the fourth quarter to give the Bengals their largest lead of the game, 69-48.
- Buffalo State held an 18-5 advantage at the free throw line and shot 40 percent from the field.
- Seven players each recorded a rebound for the Bengals, as they outrebounded the Mavericks 41-31.
FOR THE FOES:
- RayAnn Call led Medaille with 11 points and two rebounds.
- Breanna Walker added 10 points, and Dani Reinwald chipped in seven points and 15 rebounds.
