ALFRED, N.Y. – After playing to a 1-0 half time score, the Hilbert women's soccer team gave up two quick goals to Alfred University after intermission allowing the Saxons to extend their lead to three.   The Hawks (0-3) surrendered a pair of markers late in the game falling in a 5-0 defeat under the lights.

Alfred (3-1) found the back of the net in the 10th minute creating a 1-0 lead.  Hilbert played even the rest of the opening half and went to the break within reach.

The Saxons got deep in Hilbert's final third and scored a pair of goals in the 48th minute then added two more hits over the next twenty minutes, setting the final score at 64:25.

Freshman Amber Stuck was credited with Hilbert's solo shot on goal in the second half.

Brianna Stegmeier collected five saves off 19 shots, 11 on goal.

The Hawks host their home opener this weekend when they welcome Geneva College to the varsity field in a 1pm non-conference contest.  Be sure to grab a seat in the Hawks nest and cheer your team on.
