PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Hilbert College baseball team discovered why the Redhawks from La Roche were selected as the AMCC Preseason favorites this spring.
La Roche (14-6) took two from the Hawks (5-10), winning game one 12-0 and game two by a 7-1 margin.

GAME 1
The Redhawks posted nine runs in the bottom of the second inning and tacked on three more by the top of the 7th inning for the win.
Michael Best's single in the top of the 5th prevented the hosts from securing a no-hitter.
Henry Bowers (3-1) struck out five through five innings of work.
GAME 2
Taylor Haug,
Brandon Zicari and
Michael Voveris earned three hits for Hilbert and
Ian Moran earned the Hawks solo RBI in the 4th inning pushing
Ryan Bonafede home.
The Redhawks earned 14 hits and poked 6 RBIs.
Hilbert hopes to play two non-conference mid-week games this week. The Hawks are scheduled to travel to Elmira College April 4 and then host Fredonia April 5. Both games are single, 9-inning contests with a late afternoon start.
