NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, N.Y. - La Roche University jumped out to early leads in both games today as the Redhawks swept the Hawks baseball team, 7-4 and 18-3 in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference action at Niagara University.

GAME ONE

Hilbert, trailing 5-0 through five innings, rallied with four runs in the bottom of the 5th before falling 7-4.

Austin O'Shei went 3 for 4 with 2 RBI and Benjamin Heilig knocked in a run as did Noah Welch.

O'Shei hit a 2 RBI triple in the 4th to bring Hilbert within two (5-3) and Heilig's RBI double in the 6th gave the Hawks life.

But the Redhawks had already built a 7-4 lead by then and held on for the win.

Jordan Brown took the loss on the mound covering 5.2 innings with 11 hits and three earned runs while striking out four.

GAME TWO

La Roche scored runs in six of the nine innings at bat.  Their most productive effort was the seven runs in the 5th inning which put the game away.

Hilbert strung together three runs at the bottom of the 9th which was a little too late.

Jared Welnowski went 2 for 2 as a pinch hitter and Griffith DeMayo went 2 for 3.  Those two, along with Treyton delaCuesta hit the team's doubles in the game.

Five additional pitchers came out of the bull pen as Henry Bowers took the loss.  He tossed 4.0 innings with  two strike outs, three walks, seven earned runs off 10 hits.

Evan Kraus went 3.0 innings in the 9-inning game with five walks, two earned runs off three hits.

Hilbert (3-15, 1-5) returns to Niagara University tomorrow, April 7,  for their 1:15 pm game against Penn State Altoona.
