Men's Tennis Falls Short of AMCC Championship Match

ERIE, Pa. – The Pitt-Greensburg Bobcats men's tennis team edged Penn State Behrend 5-4 in the semifinals of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Tournament on Saturday evening at Westwood Racquet Club.

Key Moments:


* The Bobcats defeated the Lions for a second time this season to advance to the AMCC Championship match
* The match came down to the No. 2 singles match between Vaughn Hunkele and Behrend's Noah Colvin (Warren, PA/Warren)
* Colvin won the first set 6-2, before falling 7-5 and 19-17 in a tiebreaker
* Colvin also lost a close one at No. 1 doubles with Kyle Thomas (Erie, PA/Harbor Creek), falling 8-6
* Michael Brudy (Gibsonia, PA/Pine Richland) and Belden Tuttle (Fairview, PA/Fairview) posted the lone doubles win at the No. 2 spot to make the match 2-1 heading into singles play
* Brudy and Tuttle registered the  8-0 win against Deven Summers and Kyle Glessner
* Brudy, Tuttle and Brown won their singles matches to keep the Lions in the match
* At No. 3 singles, Brudy defeated Summers 6-0, 6-0 before Matthew Brown (Oviedo, FL/Paul J. Hagerty) posted a 6-0, 6-2 victory at No. 4 singles
* Tuttle was victorious at No. 5 singles 6-1, 6-2 over Francisco Garcia to even the match at 4-all and placing the deciding match at No. 2 singles
