Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Brianna Stegmeier Makes 18 Saves on Senior Day

HAMBURG, N.Y. - The Hilbert Hawks slipped in a 1-0 AMCC defeat to La Roche College this afternoon in women's soccer.

Prior to the start of the game, the women's soccer team honored their six graduating seniors - Jordan Collins, Ashley Iwanenko, Aurora Klawinski, Lauren Lepovich, Morgan McNeill, and Calista Mis.

The overnight soaking made the first 45-minutes of play sloppy on the wet, grass field.

Neither team went to deep in their bench today, and just sixty-eight seconds into the second half, the Redhawks pushed the ball to the back of the net scoring what would turnout to be the game winning goal.

La Roche held an advantage in shots (34-7) and corners (9-1).

Brianna Stegmeier set another new single-game record by making 18 saves in 90 minutes.  She cut angles and took body-shots en route to her new personal record.

Lauren Lepovich's three shots led the Hawks with two shots tagged on-goal.  Amber Stuck was the other multi-shot Hawk while Morgan McNeill and Jessica Ryckman notched one shot each.

Hilbert (0-13, 0-6) will return to action next week when they welcome Penn State Behrend October 17 in a 1:00 pm start.
