Men's Soccer Falls on the Road to Hilbert

Men's Soccer Falls on the Road to Hilbert

On Wednesday afternoon the Wells College men's soccer team traveled to Hilbert College for a non-conference match-up. The Express would fall to the hawks by a score of 4-1.

After a road trip to Gallaudet and St Mary's the Express took on the Hawks while looking for their first win of the season. The defense for Wells College stepped up at the beginning of the game keeping the hawks at bay until the 26th and 27th minutes when the Hawks would score Hector Harris and Carter Burke on a penalty kick.  Carte Burke would take another penalty kick for the Hawks and give them a 3-0 lead in the 47th minute. In the 52nd minute, John Castaneda for Wells College would score his first collegiate goal to cut the Hawks lead to 2 with plenty of time remaining. Unfortunately for the Express, Hilbert would score once more and secure this win 4-1.

Men's soccer will be back in action at home this Saturday when they take on Penn St Berks.

Express Stat Leaders:

John Castaneda - 1 Goal

Sean Nemeth - 11 saves
