Jamison Puts Up 24 Points in Penn State Altoona Loss

Paris Jamison (Brooklyn/East Side Community) scored a career-high of 24 points in the Alfred State men's basketball 95-89 loss to the Penn State Altoona Lions Saturday evening inside Adler Arena.

The Pioneers move to 8-12 overall and 4-8 in the AMCC while the Lions improve to 16-5 overall and 11-2 in the conference.

Alfred State shot 44.2% in field goals, 100% in free throws and picked up 49 rebounds.

Penn State Altoona shot 54.7% in field goals, 66.7% in free throws and had 30 rebounds.

Tavion Williams (Bronx/FDA) recorded 12 points and eight rebounds, Josh Reding (Spencerport) added nine points, six assists and four rebounds and Basheem Wilkerson (Brooklyn/John Jay) chipped in eight points and three assists. Jamison picked up six rebounds and had two steals and Josh Romero (Bronx/Theodore Roosevelt) had six rebounds and five assists.

The Pioneers took an early lead and had their largest advantage of 12 points halfway through the first.

Penn State Altoona came within three points of the lead with five minutes left in the first half but Alfred State out-scored them 14-12 the remainder of the half to head into halftime up 51-46.

The second half proved to be more grueling with the lead changing five times.

The Pioneers went on a ten-point run to take a 65-59 edge with 13:29 left.

The Lions retaliated with a 12-point spree five minutes later to take a two-point advantage. They were able to extend it to six by the end of the game for the win.

The men start a three-game home stretch on Wednesday, Feb. 9 against AMCC opponent Penn State-Behrend with a 7:30 p.m. tip off.
