Express Men's Hoops Takes Down Hawks

On Tuesday night the Wells Express men's basketball team hit the road once again to visit the Hawks of Hilbert College.

The Express were riding a 4 game losing streak and hoped that this game would help them course-correct before the holiday break. 

The early stages of the game were back and forth until the Express found themselves down 14-10. From that point, the Express went on a 16-8 run to take a 30-18 lead. By halftime, the Hawks had shrunk the gap to make it 46-42 at half in favor of the visiting Express. 

In the second half, the Express was in control most of the way but the Hawks clawed back in the very end. With 17 seconds left, and the shot clock off, the Hawks had one last chance to tie it up. The Hawks had the ball and were down 3 but were not able to find a good shot thanks to the Express defense. The Express secured the road victory by a score of 81-78.

The Express will be back in action on Thursday as they travel to take on Houghton College!
