HAMBURG, N.Y. – Penn State Behrend (2-1) earned a 96-54 AMCC victory over Hilbert College in men's basketball tonight.  The Lions knocked down more 3-point shots than free throws as they easily pulled away from the Hawks (0-3) in the second half.

Hunter Martineau led the hosts with 20 points, hitting 8-of-14 from the floor and 4-of-5 from the foul line.  Martineau was the Hawks' leading rebounder (four) and shared game-high honors with three steals. 

No other Hilbert player scored more than six points.

Hilbert was neck and neck with Behrend for the first 13 minutes of action.  Both teams played through nine lead changes and each team tied the game's score twice.

Ryan Hogan's 3-pointer at 8:50 lifted the Hawks for the final time (24-22).  The Lions closed the half on a 16-6 run and continued to stretch that in the second frame.

Penn State Behrend shot 68% from the floor while Hilbert hit at a 48% clip in the first 20 minutes.

The Lions turned up the heat and got hotter in the second half, knocking down 12-of-16 3's (75%) and 20-27 from inside the arc (74.1%).  Hilbert could not match the shooting power of the visitors and closed the game 43.8%.

Hilbert returns to action this Saturday, December 8 when they host Mt. Aloysius (3-0) in a 3pm tip.
