Women’s Volleyball Earns Senior Day Sweep

ALTOONA, Pa. – The Penn State Altoona women's volleyball team wrapped up its regular season schedule with a 3-0 victory over visiting Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent Hilbert College in the Adler Arena on Saturday afternoon.

The Lions (15-4, 6-2 AMCC) recognized their two senior players, defensive specialist Alison Abrashoff (Dillsburg, PA/Northern York) and middle Alexis Cannistraci (Tyrone, PA/Tyrone), in a pre-match ceremony, then dispatched Hilbert (0-20, 0-8 AMCC) in three sets by scores of 25-5, 25-12, and 25-17.

Taylor Myers (Morrisdale, PA/West Branch) led all players in the match with 9.0 points, tying for team-highs with seven kills and two service aces. Lydia Mock (Alum Bank, PA/Chestnut Ridge) had 7.0 points on seven kills, and Lacee Barnhart (Bellefonte, PA/Bald Eagle) produced 6.5 points on four kills, two aces, and a block assist while notching a team-leading seven digs.

Karlie Feathers (Bellwood, PA/Bellwood-Antis) added three kills and two aces, while Cannistraci, Makenna Bauer (Tyrone, PA/Tyrone), Taylor Kilmer (Julian, PA/Bald Eagle), and Grace Shelley (York, PA/York Catholic) had two kills apiece. Shelley also led all players in the match in blocks, tallying one solo block and one block assist.

Kayla Moran (Boalsburg, PA/State College) had a match-high 17 assists to go along with four digs and a kill. Erin Lutz (State College, PA/State College) totaled four digs

With its regular season now complete, the Penn State Altoona women's volleyball team advances to the AMCC Tournament as the number three seed in the field. The Lions will host six seed Mount Aloysius College in a first round tournament match on Wednesday, November 3 at 7:00 p.m. in the Adler Arena.
