Scots Open Kilt Classic 2-0

Tyara Thompson The College of Wooster volleyball team went 2-0 to open the Ginny Hunt Kilt Classic on Friday. They defeated Westminster College 3-1 in its opening game and then the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford by the same score.

In game one, which the Scots took 26-24, 25-21, 26-28, 25-16, Hayley Nash led the team with 16 kills. Emily Gail recorded 13 and Caroline Dillard 10 for double figure kills for the Scots.

Nash also led the team with four blocks, along with Troy JohnsonSydney Fitzcharles recorded 22 digs.

The Scots then defeated Pitt.-Bradford in similar fashion, 25-10, 26-24, 20-25, 25-17.

Nash led the team again with 17 kills, while Gail followed with 11. Fitzcharles scored 14 digs, while Trinity Harmon followed with 13, and Tyara Thompson had 12. Thompson also had 45 assists in both games.

On Saturday, the Scots (3-6) will wrap up play in the Classic with games against John Carroll University and Capital University.
