HAMBRG, N.Y. -Â The Hilbert's men's soccer team forced a 3-3 tie in the championship game of the Hilbert Men's Soccer Tournament this afternoon.Â
The Hawks and Bryant and Stratton played 90-minutes even but went to a shootout in order to determine the champion. Hilbert won 5-4 on penalties, earned their first weekend series of the year as they look to build on the great start to the season.

How it Happened
- Bryant and Stratton come out of the gate hot with Jaime Ward tucking one in the bottom left hand corner to take a 1-0 lead in the 7th minute.
- Hilbert answered back quickly when Jason Vullo delivered a beautiful pass to Chris Smith who buried it in the bottom right hand corner 17-seconds later.
- Trevor Farell struck back though with a goal ten minutes later and put the Bobcats back up by one.
- Carter Burke then capitalize on a penalty kick to tie the game again at 31:05.
- But before intermission, Isaac Bourne steped up and scored a penalty kick of his own which put Bryant and Stratton back on top heading into the second half.
- After a relatively quiet 30-minutes of action, Hector Harris eventually broke through and crossed a ball over to John Schroth who hit a beauty into the top right corner of the net, knotting the game at 3-all with 13 minutes left in regulation.
- The game ended in a 3-3 tie, but the Hawks and Bobcats were forced to go to penalties in order to award the champion.Â
- Carter Burke, Chris Smith, John Schroth, Hector Harris, and Ed Brust were successful in their kicks while Logan Peck steped up in a massive way making three penalty saves to help Hilbert get the win.

- Bryant and Stratton led the game with twelve shots on net compared to Hilbert's 5.
- Bryant and Stratton also edged out ten corners throughout the match as to Hilbert only earned one.
- Logan Peck played outstanding recording nine saves during the competition plus three in the penalty shootout.
- Hilbert's Jason Vullo, Jacob Donner, Carter Burke, Reese Tomporowski, and Hector Harris helped lead Hilbert to the victory by playing all ninety minutes of the game.
