GREENVILLE, Pa. – After stepping on the field for the first time as a team today, the Hilbert College women's lacrosse team suffered a 22-2 defeat to the 4-2 Thiel Tomcats.

Aaryonah Vaughn led with two points, scoring one goal and assisting on Sam Lawicki's other hit.

Calista Mis won five draw controls, and caused two turnovers while Vaughn posted team-high honors with four ground balls.

Nicole Darrow made her first start in goal for the Hawks and was credited with 18 saves.

The Tomcats dominated the offensive end of their field, building large margins in shots (55-10) and shots on goal (40-7).

Hilbert won seven of the 25 draw controls and went 0-3 in their free position conversions.

Thiel built a six-goal lead before Lawicki converted Vaughn's feed to the back of the next after nine minutes of play.

After five more Tomcat scores, Vaughn tallied her first unassisted goal with just over eight minutes to go in the opening period.

Thiel closed the game blanking the Hawks 11-0 by the final horn.

Fans can get a chance to support your Hawks at their 'Home' Opener this coming week.  Hilbert will host Houghton College March 19 at Dopson Field (Buffalo) with a 4pm first draw.
