8-0 Run Continues; Five Redhawks Net Double Digits

CRESSON, PA - The women's basketball team at La Roche University traveled to Mount Aloysius to take on the Mounties. In their second faceoff of the season, the Redhawks walked away 2-0 with a 108-54 victory. 

The Mounties hung tough in the first quarter, putting up 16 points to LRU's 19. But in the second period, the Redhawks took off. Senior, Danajah Sanders shot 66 percent from the arc, and 63 percent from field goal range. She ended tonight's contest with a total of 24 points. 

In the final half La Roche stayed consistent, scoring 32 points in each quarter.

Four more Redhawks joined the double digits club with Sanders. Ayannay Mazyck followed up with 20 points, shooting 100% from three point range. She led the team in rebounds with nine, and shot 53 percent from inside the arc. 

Alexis Robison made four three point shots for a total of 57 percent from three, and 100 percent from the free throw line. Robison ended with 17 points in tonight's matchup. 

Nia Thomas followed right after, netting 12 points. She shot 71 percent from field goal range. Machia Hairston was the final Redhawk in the club with a total of 10 points. 

The unsung hero of tonight's contest is Shaundrea Butler, who had nine assists, proving to be the ultimate team player. 

The Redhawks are back in their final games stretch on Saturday in a matchup at Alfred State. Tipoff is scheduled for 2:00 PM.
