Volleyball Hits in the Positive Against Kings

ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Hilbert College women's volleyball team closed their two-day trip to Hartwick College with a pair of defeats, but they showed promise in the first match of the day.

Kings College (PA) won the morning match in three sets (25-14, 25-15, 25-16), improving to 8-2 on the season.  Hilbert finished the game hitting in the positive (.102) as they challenged the Monarchs on the court.

Ashley Repine posted 10 kills and five blocks while leading the Hawks with eight digs.

Sara Trzepkowski netted 18 assists and Rachel Hare, in her first appearance of the season, secured two points off service aces.

The Hawks ran into a brick wall in the nightcap as they finished the game with only nine kills spaced over the game's first two sets.  Hartwick claimed the win in three sets (25-16, 25-14, 25-9).

Repine (5), Natassia West (3) and Hare (1) put points on the board.  Repine also finished with three more blocks in the second match and Trzepkowski added eight assists on the nine kills.  Torianna LeWand led the defense with seven digs.

The Hawks (0-9) return to the friendly confines of the Hafner Recreation Center Thursday, September 20th when they welcome Cazenovia College in a 7pm game.
