HAMBURG, N.Y. - Hilbert College improved to 8-2 overall and kept an unblemished AMCC record after they earned a 48-37 conference win over Penn State Behrend in women's basketball tonight.

The Hawks survived a miserable second quarter performance and built a large enough lead heading into the final quarter to pick up their third conference win.

Katelyn Proy was one rebound and one assist away from collecting a triple double as the 6-2 forward scored 10 points, nine rebounds, nine assists and four blocks.  Many of her dishes were down low to Ashley Repine who led the floor with 14 points. (7 rebounds).

Taylor Corts, who gave Hilbert a big lift with the game's first 3-pointer, finished with 13 points, knocking down a trio from downtown.

Hilbert limited Penn State Behrend from the floor rushing them into several missed shots as the Lions finished the game hitting only 25.5% from the field.  The Hawks used a strong second half shooting (47.6%) but closed the game at 36.5%.

The Lions outworked the Hawks on the glass building a 41-37 advantage and cleaned the hosts for 14 offensive boards.

Hilbert jumped out early and made things look easy, but Behrend battled back to closed the gap 20-13 by the end of the quarter.

Neither team found any rhythm in the second session as they limped to intermission after scoring a combined eight points in ten minutes. 

The Hawks exploded with a 19-point third quarter but slumped in the final session getting outscored 14-7.

Alayna DeFazio was credited with three steals behind perfect timing off passes into the paint.

The undefeated Hawks (3-0) will host Mt. Aloysius (2-1) this Saturday, December 8 (1pm) in a rematch of last year's AMCC Championship game.
