Aldinger, Duck and Flores Launch Homers in High-Scoring Contests

HAMBURG, N.Y. - Both Pitt.-Greensburg and Hilbert College had their offenses going today, but the Hawks eventually succumbed to the Bobcats in two high-scoring affairs. 

Greensburg took the opening 7-inning game, 15-10, and then outlasted the Hawks in another shoot-out (16-9) before the 9-inning contest was called due to darkness (the second game's box score will be made available once it is complete)
 
The Hawks dropped to 8-10 and secured their 6th seed in the AMCC post season tournament which begins this weekend.  Greensburg improved to 14-4 and earned the league's #2 seed. 
 
Hilbert will travel to the #3 seeded team Penn State Behrend April 5.
 
GAME ONE:
 
The
Hawks saw the ball well today, racking up 14 hits and a pair of home runs in the first game.  Tristan Aldinger had a long ball in the first inning and Eric Flores homered in the fifth inning.
 

Hilbert evened things up at four-all in the bottom of the first inning.  Aldinger drove in three when he homered but Greensburg pulled away for good with three runs in the second inning.   
 

Eric FloresRyan PerrinAldinger, and Connor Duck each collected multiple hits as Flores went 4-for-4 at the plate.   Flores singled in the first, singled in the second, homered in the fifth, and singled in the sixth.
 

Henry Bowers  surrendered nine runs on nine hits over five innings, striking out three. Jacob Quiter and Michael Goodberry entered the game as relief, throwing one and one-third innings and two-thirds of an inning respectively.
 
GAME TWO:
 
Hilbert continued to make contact as they collected 15 hits in the night cap.  Flores and Duck collected three hits each.
 

The Hawks opened up scoring in the first inning, when Winfred Nelson doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.
 
Greensburg responded with eight runs in the second inning as they created enough space for the win.
 
With two-outs in the second inning, Duck hit Hilbert's solo home run in the nightcap.
 

Daniel Munn started the game for Hilbert. He allowed six hits and eight runs over one and one-third innings, walking one.  Zachary CraneTreyton delaCuesta, and Jacob Quiter each contributed in relief for Hilbert.
