HAMBURG, N.Y. – After falling behind 1-0 in the game's first ten minutes, the Hilbert College men's soccer team had to regroup and play different field positions once the Hawks were forced to make a keeper change.

Alfred State College earned a 4-1 AMCC win over Hilbert which lifted the Pioneers to their first win of the season (1-11, 1-5 AMCC).

Hilbert looked strong and competitive the first 21 minutes.  Even after Tucker Reynolds, who rushed the ball off a restart kick in the 7th minute and lost a 1v1 challenge with an ASC's defender, left the game due to injury, the Hawks continued to battle.

Brandon Bundschuh, who scored Hilbert's lone goal, put his keeper jersey back on for the second game in a row and finished with nine saves in the final 82 minutes.

The Hawks knotted the game 1-1 at 20:56 thanks to an opposing team defender being called for a trip in the box.  Bundschuh ran the length of the field, faked ASC goalie out and struck to the lower right corner.

Less than five minutes later Alfred State unleashed a powerful shot from up top that struck the right post hard and ricocheted to the opposite side, lower corner which gave Bundschuh no chance of stopping.

The Flewellyn brothers (Sebastian and Gabriel) were each credited with a shot on goal as was Nick Faltisko and Hector Harris.

Hilbert hits the road for their solo game in Ohio this weekend.  The Hawks (0-9-1, 0-5) will face Franciscan University (9-2-2, 4-1-1) Saturday, October 19 at 1:00 pm.
