HAMBURG, N.Y.  – Hector Harris lifted Hilbert to a 1-1 tie with Thiel College this afternoon on the Hawks Varsity Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
 

• The first 45-minutes of action were a back-and-forth, scoreless ping-pong affair. 
• The Tomcats got on the board off a hard shot outside the box down midway through the second half.
• Hilbert had a great look the next trip down the field but that shot was punched over the cross bar leading to an empty corner by the Hawks.
• Hilbert continued to push offensively and cover defensively for the next seven minutes.
• Reese Tomporowski delivered a perfect high corner kick to the back of the six and Hector Harris headed the ball past the Tomcat keeper to the lower left net.
• Thiel had another good-looking break away but a slide tackle by the Hunter Holler took the pressure off Peck in the 80th minute.
• The game finished with aggressive play but scoreless results.

 
GAME NOTES

• The Tomcats doubled the Hawks in shots (23-12) but Hilbert pulled within reach in shots on goal (7-11).
• Both teams finished the match with five corners and Peck led with 10 saves.
• Chris Smith, Beckham Blair and Aurelien Ruaudel each unleashed two shots with Blair and Ruaudel matching Harris with shots ongoal.
