Four Pioneers Score In Double Figures In A Battle Against Altoona

Altoona, PA- Alfred State men's basketball fell in a hard-fought game against Penn State Altoona, 93-85. The Pioneers drop to 5-7 on the season and 3-2 against AMCC opponents.

Paris Jamison led the way with 25 points, four assists, and three steals. Cody Schneider added 16 points, seven rebounds, and five assists. Dylan Perry came away with 14 points and Jacob Gonzalez scored a season-high 12 points.

Jamison got the game started with a layup then back-to-back threes from Schneider and Perry gave ASC the 8-7 lead. A few possessions later Perry knocked down another three. Altoona regained the lead with a layup that forced a Pioneer timeout. After some more back and forth action, PSA was able to take a five point lead into the half, 44-39.

In the second half, Logan Dunbar hit a three to open the half and Perry followed with a layup to cut the lead down to two. From there, PSA extended their lead to six, before layups by Paris and Schneider made it a two-point game again. Then Zy Switzer knocked down a three-pointer to make it a 67-66 game. Following an Altoona technical foul ASC tied the game at 70-70, and Gonzalez broke the tie with a layup. After some back-and-forth action with lead changes every possession, Altoona regained the lead late and was able to hold on for the win.
