HOW IT HAPPENED  - SUNY Poly
  • The Hawks were on attack in the opening set against SUNY P.  Hilbert earned 13 kills one solo block and a pair of service aces in their two-point loss, 25-23. Katie Kociszewski led with four kills.
  • The hosts held a 15-8 advantage until Hilbert knocked off 10 consecutive points to take an 18-15 lead.  Jenna Revak collected five service aces in that run.  SUNY Poly regrouped and built a 21-19 lead and held on for the 25-21 win.  Emily Garnett posted five kills in that set.
  • Michaela Rice came out on fire at the start of the third set, earning six of Hilbert's first seven points off four consecutive service aces and two kills. Hilbert continued to roll doubling up the points on the scoreboard midway through the set and pulling away after earning 16 points in the 25-15 victory.
  • The Hawks continued to play with confidence and finish transitions.  They earned 18 of the team's 25 points many fueled at the net.  McKenna Rice and Jenna Revak each earned five kills in the set.
  • The Hawks earned a 15-13 match victory after Nadia Loggans posted her first kill in the fifth set (third of the day).  Hilbert continued to earn more points than be given as they won the match in five sets.
  • The Hawks earned multiple season-highs:  52 kills (.199), 80 points, 24 service aces, 44 blocks and 58 digs.
  • Jenna Revak collected a team-high 13 kills, and 15 digs while Michaela Rice added eight kills (.538) and 10 service aces.  McKenna Rice added 10 kills and Angelita Ledesma picked up 14 digs.

HOW IT HAPPENED  - Saint Joseph

  • The Hawks attack in the second match wasn't as potent as Saint Joseph was credited with seven blocks.  Hilbert earned 47 kills (.117) in five sets,  nine service aces, two blocks, 42 assists and kept play alive with 91 digs.
  • Jenna Revak paired 10 kills with a team-best 20 digs while Michaela Rice led with 11 kills.  Angelita Ledesma was again very active on defense and finshed the match with 19 digs and Emily Garnett (8 kills, 11 digs) and Jaden Helbig (37 assists, 9 digs) produced solid all-around performances.
  • Saint Joseph jumped out to a 20-9 lead and rolled to the 25-15 first set victory.
  • Hilbert build a 10-3 lead thanks to three kills and three service aces.  The Hawks struggled to finish transitions and allowed USJ to close the gap to a two-point game.  Hilbert went back up by six (21-14) but gave up multiple points again off hitting errors (21-18) until they pulled away in the 25-20 win.
  • The Hawks controlled everything about the third set, manufacturing multiple runs as they earned a 25-18 win.
  • Saint Joseph took a 6 – 3 lead early in the fourth set and never relinquished the lead the rest of the way.  The closest Hilbert got was 15-17 midway through the 25-20 defeat.
  • It looked the USJ was going to run away with the fifth set after building a 4-1 lead, but the Hawks, trailing 5-8, went on a 10-point run to win the match 15-8.  Hilbert earned two service aces, one block and four kills in that 10-point run.
