BUFFALO, N.Y. – Brittany Profetta's late-game goal lifted the Hilbert College women's soccer team to a 1-0 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference victory over Medaille College this afternoon.

Both teams fought through the hot turf at Dobson Field and took advantage of multiple water breaks throughout the Buffalo Cup contest.

The Hawks held an 8-7 edge in shots and 5-3 in shots on goal.  Hilbert kept the ball in their offensive third and pressed hard looking for a score in the second half as six of their eight shots were taken in the final 30 minutes of action.

Profetta scored her first collegiate goal at 85:59 off a nice pass from defender Nicole Plucinski.

The women's soccer team returns to Hamburg this Saturday for another AMCC match at 3:15pm.  The Hawks (1-1 AMCC) will host Penn State Altoona as part of the True Blue alumni weekend.
