Women's Lacrosse Celebrates Seniors as Rookie Darrow Sets Single Season Record In Goal

EDEN, N.Y. - The Hilbert College women's lacrosse team closed their 2019 season with a 14-2 loss to Cazenovia College in North Eastern Athletic Conference action.

Prior to the cold and windy contest at Eden High School, head coach Emily Pasternak and the Hawks honored their four teammates on the turf.

Playing in their final Hilbert game today were a trio of third-year players: Ashley Binn, Caitlyn Eleczko and Calista Mis who shared the spotlight with their families.  They were joined by first-year senior Olivia Stachowski who was escorted by her cousin and teammate, Sam Lawicki.

Cazenovia built a 10-0 lead by intermission, establishing a running clock at the start of the second half, before Aaryonah Vaughn put the Hawks on the score board less then five minutes into the final session.

Sam Lawicki scored with 30-seconds left on the clock giving Hilbert their 51st goal of the season.

Nicole Darrow faced 34 shots and collected nine saves.  The rookie goalie from Auburn, NY set a new Hilbert Single Season Saves record by the conclusion of the game.

Vaughn led Hilbert with four shots, all on-goal and Lawicki connected on Hilbert's only goal off five free position shots taken.

Kelci Davies led the Hawks with two caused turnovers while Calista Mis (6) and Alayna DeFazio (4) were active getting to ground balls.
