Panthers Swept by Penn State-Altoona

Bradford, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's tennis team took on the Lions of Penn State-Altoona under the lights at the Kessel Athletic Complex on Friday night. The Panthers struggled to find their footing and fell 9-0 in the match.

The visiting Lions came firing in doubles play, easily dispatching of the Panthers in all three matches. Avitamarie Demieri and Lauryn Moore set the high point total for Pitt-Bradford, winning two games in their match.

Things did not improve as the match moved into singles play. Pitt-Bradford was unable to stay with Penn State-Altoona, as only Lydia Ehrensberger and Avitamarie Demieri were able to win more than one game per set in their match. Demeiri was the closest to her opponent, falling 3-6, 1-6 in the 5th pairing

The Panthers fall to 1-7 on the season with an 0-3 record in AMCC play. They will be right back in action tomorrow, as they will play two matches against Penn State-Behrend. Action begins at 1:00 p.m.
