Panthers to Host Pioneers in AMCC Tilt

Bradford, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's basketball team returns to KOA Arena on Wednesday night as they will host the Alfred State Pioneers in an AMCC match-up.

The Panthers are 2-13 on the season with a 0-7 record in AMCC play. In their last contest, the Panthers fell 103-50 on the road to LaRoche. The young Panthers have been led by two freshmen guards, Hannah Lary and Cailey Barnett. Lary is averaging 14.0 points per game, the 7th highest average in the conference. She also adds 4.4 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game. Barnett is the only other Panther to average double figures, as she scored 11.0 per game. She is the team's most efficient free throw shooter at 75% and adds 6.8 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game. Junior Cassidy King is the 2nd best rebounder in the AMCC as she collects 10.5 rebounds per game.

Alfred State is 7-7 on the season with a 4-3 record in AMCC play. They are currently in 4th place in the conference standings. They also played at LaRoche in their last contest, falling to the Redhawks 88-55. The Pioneers have three players who average double figures, led by Sophomore guard My'ana Davis, who scores 13.0 points per game. Junior forward Emily Kelley is a dual-threat for the Pioneers. She averages 12.7 points and 11.4 rebounds per game. She is the top rebounder in the AMCC. She is also one of the more efficient scorers in the conference, shooting 47.8%, the 5th best in the AMCC. Junior guard Skyler Shaulis is the final Pioneer to average double figures, as she scored 11.0 per game.

Alfred State was able to hold on late against the Panthers in their first matchup, which the Pioneers won 83-79. After being down 15 points in the first quarter, the Panthers slowly chipped away, eventually whittling the lead down to just one point. The Panthers had two chances to tie the game in its final minute but were unable to convert. Barnett scored a game-high 25 points and had 8 rebounds in the game. Lary scored 22 points while King added 13. The Pioneers had 6 players finish in double figures, led by Shaulis, who had 17.

The following regulations will be in place to align with Pitt-Bradford's COVID-19 mitigation efforts for indoor events. All spectators, game staff, officials, and team members not actively participating on the court are required to wear a mask at all times. Masks must be affixed to cover the wearer's nose and mouth. All spectators will be required to sign in upon their entrance into the facility, as the lists will be used in any contact tracing efforts that may become necessary. They will be required to provide a name and contact phone number to game staff.

The game is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. in KOA Arena.
