Women's Basketball Emerges Victorious at Alfred State

PITTSBURGH, PA - The women's basketball team continued their streak today on the road at Alfred State. The Redhawks were able to come out on top with a 65-57 win. 

The battle wasn't easily won, and when you break down the scores by quarter, the game was close until the very end. 

The Redhawks were able to push through in the end, the team was able to shoot 71.4 percent from the field, their highest field goal percentage of the game. The defense was able to force 15 turnovers from the pioneers. Those turnovers converted to 13 points. The team was also able to net 42 points in the paint. 

Two LRU athletes were able to capture double digits today. Freshman Makayla Abram went above and beyond, and earned a double double in tonight's contest. Abram completed 17 points for the Redhawks, and rebounded 14 missed shots. 

Joining Abram in double digits was Danajah Sanders who added 15 points to the scorebook. Machia Hairston played an amazing defensive game and came out with 15 rebounds. 

The team is playing their final three games of the regular season this coming week. First up is a road game at Pitt-Bradford at 5:30 PM.
