BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Hilbert College men's lacrosse team is on a roll.
They extended their win streak to three games after they posted an 18 – 1 NEAC victory against Medaille College tonight under the lights at Dobson Field.
Joshua Schindler continued to find his points, leading the Hawks with seven goals off seven shots.
James Duffy was unselfish feeding his open team mates as he totaled seven points behind four assists and
Edward Mathias added six points off five goals.
Marc O'Neill finished the stat-line for goal scorers after he tallied three.
Hilbert closed the game with 14 assists on 18 goals.
The Hawks dominated the field game doubling up the Mavs in ground balls and limiting them to just seven shots through the first three quarters. Hilbert won 17 of the 22 face offs
and scored four man-up goals while the Mavericks spent time in the penalty box.
Tyler Balsavage forced a team high five caused turnovers and
Ryan Spath won 14 of the 17 face offs.
Travis Hicks led with seven ground balls (one caused turnover) as Hilbert scooped 52 ground balls; four other Hawks scooped six ground balls each.
Hilbert played an evenly paced game in the first half, scoring seven first quarter goals and six in the second period. They slowed their attack in the final quarter scoring one goal after netting four in the third session.
Joseph Stevenson improved to 5-5 making three saves in 30 minutes of action.
Elijah Ryan made four saves in the third quarter and
Spencer Kennedy closed out the game with one save.
Hilbert (6-5, 3-2 NEAC) returns to league action this weekend when they travel to St. Francis High School to host Keuka College April 21 for a 2pm start.
