Altoona, PA- The Mount Aloysius Men's tennis team took down a shorthanded Lycoming College on Saturday by a score of 9-0.
The teams only played two doubles matches, with the Mounties winning each handily.
Matt Blose (Punxsutawney, PA/Punxsutawney) and
Nick Goldyn (Sidman, PA/Forest Hills) won their match 8-1 while
Cole Kazmierczyk (Johnstown, PA/Richland) and
Dylan Matta (Pittsburgh, PA/Plum) won at teh second pairing 8-2
Things did not change much in singles, as the Mounties dominated all 4 contested matches. As a team the Mounties lost 1 out of 49 sets. Blose won 6-0, 6-1 at the top spot while Kazmierczyk, Goldyn and Matta all won their matches 6-0, 6-0.
The Mounties record improves to 5-1 with the win. Their match with Westminster scheduled for tomorrow afternoon has been canceled. The Mounties will get some rest over spring break, before resuming their season with AMCC Conference play. They will host Penn State Behrend on March 23rd at the Summit Athletic Club in Altoona.Â
