AURORA, N.Y. – Tyler Eister snuck one past the home keeper, but that solo Hilbert goal was too little too late for the Hawks who fell to Wells College, 4-1, this afternoon in men's soccer.

Wells earned their first win in two tries while Hilbert fell to 0-2.

After Hilbert committed a foul in the box in the game's fourth minute, Wells turned that PK into a goal and held that 1-0 lead to intermission.

The Express put three more hits on the score board before Eister's sharp-angled shot reached past the goalie and slid to the back post at with just under three minutes left in the game.  Wade Bergum delivered the perfect pass for the Hawks' first goal of the season.

In the final minute, the Hawks had a chance to add another point to the board but the Hilbert penalty kick was deflected for the save.

Hilbert picked up the pace in the second half as they were credited with 12 shots (vs. 3 in the first period). 

Ryan Valentine faced 24 shots, 10 on goal and made six saves.

Eister finished with a third of Hilbert's shots with five attempts listed on the stat sheet.  Bergum followed with three shots.
