Men’s Tennis Drops Season Opener 6-3
ALTOONA, Pa. – Penn State Altoona men's tennis started the fall portion of its 2019-20 season on Saturday afternoon, when the Lions were defeated 6-3 by Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent Mount Aloysius College at the Summit Tennis and Athletic Club.
Mount Aloysius (2-0, 1-0 AMCC) started strong by winning two out of three doubles matches.
Penn State Altoona (0-1, 0-1 AMCC) picked up a point in No. 3 doubles, where the duo of Jaydan Jacobs (St. Thomas, Virgin Islands/Charlotte Amalie)/Dominic Lisanti (Mechanicsville, MD/Chopticon) won their match 8-4.
But the Mounties went on to win four out of six in singles play to earn the three-point match win.
The Lions got two points in singles, as Jacobs prevailed 6-3, 6-4 in the No. 4 match and Andrew Ung (Upper Chichester, PA/Chichester) triumphed 6-0, 6-3 in the No. 6 match.
Next up, Penn State Altoona men's tennis hosts AMCC opponent Penn State Behrend for a match on Friday, September 20 at 4:30 p.m. That match is slated to be played outdoors at the Adler Tennis Courts, weather permitting.
