HAMBURG, N.Y. – The Hilbert College women's volleyball team suffered a 3-0 defeat to Medaille College tonight in both program's first Buffalo Cup contest.

The Hawks were unable to connect offensively and they created little resistance defensively slowing Medaille's attack in 25-19, 25-16 and 25-15 scores.

Hilbert finished with 20 kills with a .017 attack percentage.  Medaille picked up 44 kills at a .242 clip.

Morgan Ott led the Hawks with five kills, six assists, a pair of service aces and added seven digs. 

Torianna LeWand earned 17 digs and Kamalei Lene added 13 as they combined for 30 of the Hawks' 54 in three sets.

Medaille had two players total 29 kills while sharing seven hitting errors.

Hilbert dropped to 1-2 in AMCC play and 3-9 overall.  They travel to Fredonia this Friday for a 5pm game against the Blue Devils and follow with a 7pm against another SUNYAC institution and cross-town rival, Buffalo State.

The Hawks then head down to Pittsburgh Friday night for their 1pm AMCC game October 1st at La Roche.
