Pioneers Fight for Tough Draw

The Alfred State Men's Soccer team traveled to Elmira for a match and tied 2-2.

The Pioneers suffered 2 goals early, the first on a penalty kick in the 3 minute, and the second in the 9 minute.

Alfred State scored on a penalty kick of their own in the 83 minute, when Nuri Sarbudak (Pittsford, N.Y. / Pittsford Mendon) knocked it in. At the 88 minute, a Pioneer goal kick, led to the ball making it's way up the field. Forward Gavin Rice (Greece, N.Y. / Greece Athena) broke past the defense of the Soaring Eagles, knocking in the the second goal with 90 seconds remaining for the Pioneers, tying the match at 2-2.

The men's team has won two out of their last three by a score of 14-4. They are back in action October 5, at Pioneer Stadium against SUNY Canton.
