STEUBENVILLE, OH – After giving up six first-half goals, the Hilbert College women's soccer team played even with Franciscan University in the last forty-five minute period.  The Barons improved to 2-4 in league play and dropped the Hawks to 0-6 after the 6-0 Franciscan win.

The hosts outshot the Hawks 16-6 in the first half when they built their lead before the break.  Franciscan scored twice before the seventh minute and added another in the 22nd minute.
 
The ball just didn't bounce Hilbert's way over the course of three and a half minutes in the middle of the first half.  The Barons netted in the 34th minute and then two more at 37:03 and 37:53.

Jenna Castricone (four saves) was replaced at half time with Aurora Klawinski who finished with three saves.

Courtney Vaccaro, Jennifer Colvin and Shannon Rogers tried to beat the Baron's goal keeper, but their three shots each were either off target or credited as a save.

Jackie Morgan and Ashley Iwanenko found the center of the frame, but Franciscan's goalie made saves on their shots-on-goal.

Franciscan used two goalies to cover the 90-minute game and they each picked-up three saves.

The women's soccer team heads to the West side of Buffalo for the neutral-site game against Medaille College October 21.  The Hawks will battle the 1-11-1, (1-5AMCC) Mavericks at the Art Dobson Turf Field Complex at D'Youville College.  The 3:15 pm game will have Live Stats and Live video feed ($).
