Jamison Scores 33 But Pioneers Fall Short

The Alfred State Men's Basketball team dropped Wednesday's contest to Pitt.- Bradford 92-85. In the highest scoring game of the season, the Pioneers never had a lead, with multiple comeback efforts falling short.

Alfred State was slow out of the gate. The Pioneers found themselves down 16-2 in the first half. A Cody Schneider (Belmont, NY / Genesee Valley Central School) 3-point jumper started a Pioneer run which cut the lead to nine points before the Panthers went on a run of their own to take back a commanding lead. After a half, the Pioneers trailed 53-38.

The Pioneers cut it to a 6-point deficit with 12 minutes left in the game, before Bradford fought back with a run, creating another double-digit lead. Pitt.- Bradford shot 61.7% from the field on 34-55 shooting. They were locked in from long-range knocking down 8-three pointers and went 8-14 from deep.

Paris Jamison (Brooklyn, NY / East Side Community) had 33 points for the Pioneers. He was the game's leader in points and went 11-17 from the field. Jamison was perfect from the stripe, going 10-10. Jamison was dominant on the defensive end as well, totaling three steals and created plenty of fast-break opportunities for the Pioneers.

Alfred State is back in action on Saturday as they host Mount Aloysius in a 1 p.m. game.
