HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Hilbert set the tone right from the opening tip, as they jumped out to an early lead with seniors Emily Gawlak and Taylor Corts scoring five points each during the Hawks 12-2 run to open the game.
  • Pitt-Bradford answered with a pair of buckets of their own before freshman Ashley Schroeder sunk a 3-pointer at the buzzer to give the Hawks a 17-6 lead after one quarter of play.
  • The second quarter was all Hilbert as they fed the hot hands on offense in Corts, Gawlak and Schroeder to extend the lead to 36-15 at the half.
  • The trio of Hawks all scored in double figures in the first half and accounted for 32 of the 36 first half points for the royal and white.
  • Hilbert came out of the intermission continuing their hot shooting, extending the lead to 27 at 50-23 after a Gawlak jumper with 4:28 to go in the 3rd quarter.
  • The Panthers Daizjah Brown made a 3-pointer on the following possession, but it wasn't enough to swing the momentum as the Hawks went on to score six unanswered points from there, before ending the quarter with a 58-34 lead.
  • Pitt-Bradford showed fight late, scoring 15 of their 49 points in the final quarter, but it wasn't enough as the Hawks used a balanced attack in the fourth to cap off a 23-point road victory.
  • Gawlak led all scorers with a season-high 24 points, while Corts finished with 18 points and Schroeder added a career-high in points (17) and rebounds (6). The trio accounted for 59 of the Hawks 72 points in the contest. Freshman Macy Kisner finished with a career-high nine rebounds to lead the Hawks on the glass, and senior Demi Battin dished out a team-high five assists.
  • The Panthers were led by Shaelyn Snipes who finished with a team-high in points (9) and assists (5). Meanwhile, Jenna Hicks grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds.
GAME NOTES
  • The 23-point win marks the Hawks largest margin of victory since November 17th, 2018 when Hilbert defeated Anna Maria 69-39 in the St. John Fisher Tournament.

  • Emily Gawlak became the 7th player in program history to surpass the 1,000 career mark as she eclipsed the milestone just one quarter after Corts did. Gawlak currently sits 7th on the all-time scoring list, as she is one point behind Corts.
  • Hilbert took advantage of Pitt-Bradford's costly turnovers to finish the game with a 22-7 advantage in points off turnovers.
