Women's Basketball: Balanced Offense and Strong Defense Lifts Bison Over Lions
Bethany, W.Va. – Bethany College women's basketball team had four score in double-digits to lift the Bison over Penn State-Altoona, 77-43, Saturday afternoon inside Hummel Field House. The Bison were led by an 18 point effort by freshman Ashleigh Wheeler.
GAME FLOW
- Sophomore Makezee Mason scored the Bison's first four point of the game.
- Both teams started out slow in the first and battled back and forth until the Bison took the lead for good at the 1:41 mark.
- Taylor Stinnett completed an old fashion three-point play to give the Bison a 13-11 lead with 1:41 to go in the first.
- Back-to-back jumpers from Alexis Heap gave Bethany a 17-11 lead at the end of the first.
- Courtney Walker hit a three-pointer to boost the lead to 20-11.
- Bethany pulled ahead in the second quarter to take a 37-23 lead at the half.
- In the third quarter, Bethany pulled away, taking a 30 point lead and held the Lions to seven points in the quarter.
- The Bison continued to hold the dominate lead in the fourth quarter and defeated the Lions by 34.

- Freshman Ashleigh Wheeler led the Bison with 18 points shooting 7-for-11 from the field.
- Sophomore Makenzee Mason added 14 points and six rebounds.
- Senior Taylor Stinnett registered her first double-double of her career scoring 11 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.
- Freshman Lindsey Garrison added 11 points.
